Authentication Methods

1. Login with Password

Traditional email and password authentication is supported for users who prefer this method. Users can register and log in using their email address and a secure password. The system includes password hashing and salting for enhanced security.

2. Login with Magic Link

Passwordless authentication using magic links sent to the user's email provides a secure and convenient login method. Users receive a unique link via email that allows them to log in instantly without entering a password.

3. Login with Social Providers

Authentication using accounts from popular social platforms streamlines the login process. Users can sign in using their existing accounts from providers like Google, GitHub, and Twitter, reducing friction in the registration and login process.

4. API Key Authentication

For machine-to-machine communication or integrating with external services, API key authentication is supported. This method allows secure access to specific parts of your application programmatically.

Implementation Details

Nextbase uses Supabase as the backend for authentication services. The authentication flow is implemented using server actions and a combination of server and client-side components for a seamless user experience. This integration provides a robust, scalable authentication system that can be easily customized to fit your application's specific needs.
