SUPABASE INTEGRATION

Authentication and data on Supabase

Supabase Auth

Sign-up and login pages with email verification. Configure the verification emails in Supabase Auth; social providers need their own credentials and callback URLs.

Authentication docs

Postgres and migrations

The schema and migrations live in apps/database/supabase/. The web app in apps/web uses Next.js pages with server-side data access.

Setup guide

Keys kept on the server

The web app uses the Supabase URL and public key. The secret key stays on the server.

MULTI-TENANCY

Workspaces, membership and tenant isolation

A workspace is where your users work together. Projects belong to a workspace, and the app checks a user's membership before it returns workspace data. Row level security protects that data in Postgres.

A workspace owner manages one workspace. An application administrator manages the whole app. These are separate roles: owning a workspace does not grant admin access. In the Supabase kit, admin access is set through trusted application metadata, so users can't make themselves administrators.

Read how workspaces and the admin area work.

BILLING

Stripe billing

Stripe integration is part of every paid plan. You connect your own Stripe account, add your products and keys, and test checkout and subscription changes on your deployment before launch. Like other optional providers, Stripe needs its own configuration after the website is deployed.

LOCAL DEVELOPMENT AND DEPLOYMENT

Run it locally, then deploy

Use Node.js 24 and the pnpm version pinned in the repository.

  1. Start a local Supabase projectThe kit uses the Supabase CLI's stack engine, so each git worktree gets its own local project.
  2. Connect the web appCopy the project's API URL, publishable key and secret key into apps/web/.env.local, keeping your other settings.
  3. Sign up and create a workspaceRun pnpm dev, verify your email from the local inbox and add a project.
  4. Check and deployRun pnpm verify:local, apply migrations to your hosted Supabase project and deploy the website on Vercel.
pnpm install
[ -f apps/web/.env.local ] || cp apps/web/.env.local.example apps/web/.env.local
pnpm --filter database exec supabase start --runtime docker
pnpm --filter database exec supabase status --output-format json

FAQ

Questions about the Supabase kit

How is this different from the free Next.js + Supabase starter?+

The free starter is an MIT-licensed base with Supabase Auth, per-user RLS and typed server actions. The paid kit adds workspaces, projects, an admin area, Stripe billing, transactional email and agent connections. The comparison table above lists each difference.

Which Supabase features does the kit use?+

Supabase Postgres for application data, Supabase Auth for accounts and sessions, and row level security to protect workspace data. Migrations live in apps/database/supabase/.

Do I need Docker to run Supabase locally?+

The documented local setup starts Supabase with Docker. A supported sandbox without Docker can use the Supabase CLI's native runtime instead. Each coding agent gets its own git worktree and local project.

Is there a TanStack version for Supabase?+

Yes. The Supabase purchase also includes the TanStack + Supabase repo, which uses React Router, Express and TanStack Query rather than TanStack Start. See the TanStack + Supabase demo.

Where do I deploy it?+

The demo runs on Vercel with a hosted Supabase project. Apply the migrations, configure the app origin, auth callbacks and email sender, then deploy the website.

Can I use the kit for client or commercial projects?+

You can build your own products with Nextbase and charge your customers. You cannot resell Nextbase as a starter kit. Pick the plan with enough seats for the developers on your team.

How do updates and support work?+

Your purchase includes lifetime updates; pull new changes from the repository when you are ready. Email admin@arni-creative.com for support, and join the Discord server you are invited to after purchase.

Do you offer refunds?+

No. Nextbase purchases are not refundable. Try the live demo and read the docs first, and email admin@arni-creative.com with any questions before you buy.
